CATDOLL : Is it better for cats to eat raw or cooked fish?

Cats are better off eating cooked fish for the following two reasons: 1. Raw fish contains parasites and unknown bacteria. Cats who eat too much are prone to infection with Toxoplasma gondii, which causes gastrointestinal burden and leads to severe diarrhea and other symptoms. In severe cases, they may suffer from liver disease, causing systemic jaundice and hepatitis. Liver disease can also lead to ascites and kidney disease. 2. Eating raw fish for a long time will cause cats to lack vitamin B1. Lack of this element may cause cats to have symptoms of convulsions, heart disease, and intermittent shock. Therefore, it is recommended to cook meat products before eating, which will be better for the health of cats.

Things to note when eating fish for cats:

1. Do not feed cats with fish heads. Because most fish are raised in ponds, they are inevitably infected with many bacteria, and sometimes fish heads will have gills and other things left. So be sure to clean the fish before feeding it to cats.

2. Remove the bones from cooked fish before feeding it to your cat to avoid damaging the esophagus.
