Is it too frequent to bathe a cat once every 10 days?

Cats should be bathed once every 10 days. Generally speaking, cats only need to be bathed once a month, and even once every three months in winter. This is because cats' skin has an oil component that protects the skin from external bacteria. If you bathe a cat frequently, it will destroy the cat's protective film, which can easily reduce the cat's immunity and cause skin diseases. In addition, cats are clean animals with self-cleaning ability and can clean their hair by themselves, so there is no need to bathe them frequently.

Things to note when bathing your cat:

1. Don't bathe your cat when you first bring it home. This is when the cat's stress response is the strongest, and bathing it will easily cause stress and increase pressure.

2. Do not wash the cat right after vaccination, because vaccination will reduce the cat's immunity in the short term.

3. When washing a cat, do not blindly use so-called cat washing tools. Those things will cause harm to the cat. The key is that the cat will be very scared.

4. Generally, when washing a cat, you should wash it in the order of the back of the head, neck, back and tail, abdomen, and limbs. You should wash it quickly and not too roughly. At the same time, be careful not to let water get into the cat's eyes and ears. You can try stuffing some cotton in the cat's ears and take it out after washing.
