CATDOLL : What colors are cats' eyes?

Cats' eyes can be yellow, brown, blue, orange, green, amber, and many other colors. Cats' eyes come in a variety of colors, which is closely related to the cat's breed and genes. Some cat breeds have special eye colors, such as purebred Ragdoll and Siamese cats have beautiful blue eyes, and Chinese rural cats have yellow eyes. At the same time, some cats' eyes are also very special, such as pure white cats are prone to having mandarin duck eyes.

How a cat's eyes get their color:

1. There are two main causes of feline eye color: iris pigmentation and blue light reflection.

2. The pigmentation of the iris is caused by melanin, and the colors range from lemon yellow to light brown to dark orange or brown.

3. The transparent structure of the cat's eyes is also transparent, with shades of blue ranging from colorless to very dark blue or blue like violet. The color combination reflected by this blue light and the color produced by the iris pigment deposition constitute all the cat's eye colors.

4. Iris pigmentation and transparent structural pigment are both controlled by multiple polygenes at different locations on chromosomes. Kittens in the same litter inherit these polygenes from their parents in a mixed manner and produce different eye colors. Different polygene mixtures lead to different arrangements of color depth.
