Cats can get depression. Symptoms of depression in cats:

2. Hiding for too long. Cats are social animals and have a favorite hiding place, like a dresser drawer or closet. But hiding for too long may be a sign of depression.

3. Cats also feel stressed, and some cats that are under greater stress will lick their fur excessively, often licking or chewing all their fur, which is a manifestation of depression.

4. When a cat suffers from depression, its personality will change drastically, and it will be prone to anger. When you play with it, it may become unhappy or even hurt people with its claws.
