1. Preparation of rice fields for crab farming

Smooth asbestos tiles or polyethylene mesh can also be built around the paddy fields to prevent escape. Escape prevention sheds should also be installed at the water inlet and outlet. A circular ditch is dug 3 meters away from the ridge. The circular ditch for raising crab seedlings and crab seeds is 1 meter wide and 0.8 meters deep. The circular ditch for raising crabs is 2-3 meters wide and 1 meter deep. Ditches and chutes (crab ponds) should also be dug in the middle of the field. The ditch is 50-60 cm wide and 50 cm deep. It can be widened to 1 meter and 60 cm deep for raising crabs. The area of ​​the chutes is 8-10 square meters and 1 meter deep. Ditches and chutes account for about 30% of the total area of ​​the paddy field. It is appropriate for a crab field to be a breeding unit of 2-3 mu.

2. Stocking of seedlings

For crab seed cultivation, 0.5 kg of crab seed can be released per mu. For adult crab cultivation, 1,500 to 2,000 crab seed with an individual weight of 10 to 15 grams can be released per mu. You can also use the crab seedlings that were bred earlier in the year, place them in the greenhouse for intensive cultivation, and then release them into the rice fields in May to shorten the breeding cycle.

3. Crab breeding and management

Feed 1-2 times a day, one-year-old crabs are generally fed at 8-9 am and 4-5 pm. In particular, adult crabs are mainly fed in the evening, with a daily feeding rate of 3%-5%. The feeding point should be on the pre-set feeding table or on the banks on both sides of the crab ditch. When feeding, pay attention to check whether there are holes in the ridges of the hail-trip field, because river crabs have the habit of digging holes, and the holes should be blocked in time. Pay attention to waterlogging prevention and crab escape during heavy rains, and pay attention to water shortage in drought seasons. Under normal circumstances, the water depth of the rice field is maintained at 6-10 cm. In order to keep the water fresh, change the water frequently. Change the water once a week in June and July; change the water 2-3 times a week in August and September; change the water once every 5-10 days after September. Change 1/3-1/5 of the water each time. In addition, during the breeding period, apply quicklime in the ditch and ditch every 10 days to make the water 5-10 mg/L.
