Are prawns sea or river?

The annual output of farming is about 200,000 tons, which greatly exceeds the catch in natural seas.

The difference between river shrimp and sea shrimp

The main species of marine shrimps are white shrimps, while the main species of river shrimps are swamp shrimps. They all belong to the family of long-arm shrimps and are very similar in appearance, but their taste and texture are quite different, so the market prices vary greatly. Marine shrimps include prawns, nine-segmented shrimps, and mud shrimps. They are large in size, white and transparent with small blue or red spots, and their shells are very thin but relatively hard. Because they grow in a seawater environment, their salt and iodine content are slightly higher than that of river shrimps, and they are usually less polluted.

River shrimps are mainly green shrimps, which are green with brown spots and have thin and soft shells. Although they are smaller in size, they are as rich in protein as sea shrimps and have a higher calcium content.
