Why should cat cages be covered with cloth?

There are several reasons why cat cages are covered with cloth:

1. Block the cat's sight and interfere with the cat's perception of the outside world. When the cat is in the cage, the shaking of the cage can easily scare the cat. Cover the cage with cloth so that the cat cannot see the outside environment and will not be afraid.

2. Cats are very afraid of heat, especially in summer, and are very prone to heatstroke. Covering the cage with cloth to isolate the sun can help them avoid the heat.

3. When the owner is resting, cover the cage to help the active cat quickly fall into a resting state.

4. Cats are sometimes too energetic, so covering the cage can also achieve the purpose of sound insulation.

What to do if your cat has heatstroke:

1. Move the cat to a cool place. If the cat is suffering from heatstroke outdoors, you need to move the cat to a cool and ventilated place in time. If the cat is suffering from heatstroke indoors, you need to open the window immediately to ventilate the room or turn on the air conditioner.

2. Wipe the cat's paws with alcohol. Because cats can only dissipate heat through their paws and breathing, wiping the cat's paws with alcohol after heatstroke can quickly and effectively cool down and dissipate heat.

3. Use ice packs or wet towels to cool the cat. It is recommended to wrap the cat's whole body with a wet towel, or wrap ice cubes in a towel and place them on the cat's head, neck, armpits, and inner thighs to help the cat's body temperature drop below 39°C. It should be noted that the cat's body temperature should be monitored at all times when cooling the cat, otherwise it will cause hypothermia due to excessive cooling. The cat's rectal temperature is the main basis.

4. Let your cat drink more water. If your cat doesn’t like to drink water, you can soak the cat food in water before feeding it to the cat, which can also increase its water intake.

5. Take the cat to the veterinary hospital for medical treatment in time. After emergency treatment, when the cat has recovered, it is recommended to take the cat to the veterinary hospital for examination. Especially when the cat shows symptoms of dehydration, it is best to go to the veterinary hospital to rehydrate the cat in time. If the cat is seriously suffering from heatstroke, it is recommended to go to the hospital immediately for treatment.
