CATDOLL : Why don't cats like water?

Cats originated from arid deserts and rarely came into contact with water during their evolution. Therefore, most cats have no experience dealing with water and are very afraid of it. When cats take a bath, their fur gets wet and sticks to their bodies, making it difficult for them to move swiftly. Wet fur is very uncomfortable for cats and usually takes a long time to dry. Cats become less agile and are more likely to be caught by predators.

How to get your cat to accept bathing:

1. To make your cat accept a bath, let the cat get familiar with the bathroom environment in advance. Let the cat know that this place is not threatening to it, and it will be relatively docile when taking a bath.

2. Combing its hair is something that cats like and enjoy, so before giving it a bath, you can comb its hair first to let it relax.

3. It is best to choose a tub bath. The water level should not exceed the cat's belly, otherwise the cat will lose its sense of security. You can put a non-slip mat under the cat's feet, or a small blanket that the cat usually uses. This will increase the cat's sense of security.
