Why do cats lose their appetite?

Reasons why cats have a poor appetite:

1. Stress reaction: If the cat’s usual feed is changed, or the breeding environment or breeding management method is suddenly changed, it is easy for the cat to become unfamiliar and subsequently develop stress.

2. Disease factors: such as gastroenteritis, parasitic diseases and a series of infectious diseases. In addition, factors such as liver damage should also be considered.

3. Poor palatability of feed: Many cheap cat foods on the market do not contain much meat to save costs, so they lack flavor.

4. Tired of cat food: Ensure the diversity of cat food. If a cat only eats one kind of cat food for a long time, it will get tired of it sooner or later. You can change the cat food from time to time, but be careful not to change it too frequently.

5. Indigestion: If the cat's gastrointestinal function is not good, it will affect the cat's appetite. Therefore, the owner should not feed too much. If the cat is in a state of overfullness for a long time, it will cause great harm to the cat's stomach. It is best to feed it regularly and quantitatively. You can also feed some probiotics on a daily basis to help cats regulate their stomachs and improve their immunity.

6. Bad Mood: Cats will also have a poor appetite when they are in a bad mood. For example, if a new pet comes to the house and the owner's attention is focused on the new pet, the cat will be unhappy. Or if the parents are too busy at work and have no time to play with the cat, they will think that you don't like it, and they will also have a decreased appetite.

7. Hairball syndrome: Cats have the habit of self-cleaning, and they will lick themselves clean. When licking their fur, some hair will be swallowed into the stomach. If it accumulates for a long time, it will cause hairball syndrome. The main symptoms are loss of appetite, listlessness, rough hair, constipation, etc.
