What can I use to raise bighead carp to make it grow faster?

Due to the relatively large market demand for bighead carp, the prospects for bighead carp farming in recent years are still relatively good. In order to increase farming income in the future, many farmers have begun to carry out scientific farming. So, what are the bighead carp farming techniques?

1. Fish fry stocking

In the past, the size of bighead carp stocked in lakes and reservoirs was generally around 13.2 cm. Modern technology requires bighead carp to be 0.15-0.5 kg per fish, or even larger sizes of 1.0 kg.

2. Storage time

It should be carried out in winter or early spring when the water temperature is 5 to 10 degrees. This is conducive to the high-density transportation of fish species, which can reduce casualties during transportation; the activity of fish species and fierce fish is weakened, and the harm of fierce fish to stocked fish species is relatively reduced.

3. Stocking location

The water core reservoir should be located in a shallow and fertile bay upstream of the reservoir, away from strong winds and facing the sun. This way, it should be far away from the spillway and flood tunnel downstream of the reservoir, which can reduce the chance of escape of stocked fish, shorten the time to adapt to the large water surface environment, accelerate growth, and improve survival rate.

4. Stocking Weather

Choose a sunny day rather than a windy, snowy, or icy one.

5. Quarantine and disinfection

Before stocking and storing fish, fish disease quarantine and disinfection must be carried out. It is strictly forbidden to stock fish with infectious diseases.

6. Be careful

After the long-distance transport of fish fingerlings is transported to the reservoir, the reservoir water should be slowly added to the fish container. When the temperature difference between the water in the container and the reservoir water is not large, the fish should be slowly put into the warehouse. After the fish fingerlings are put into the warehouse, the stocking personnel should stand beside the warehouse or on the boat, gently stir the water in the warehouse with a paddle, and slowly drive the fish fingerlings to swim to the surface of the water.

What is the best way to fertilize water for raising bighead carp?

The best fertilizer for bighead carp is raw organic fertilizer such as manure and pile fertilizer, but the effect of direct application is very slow. Therefore, in fishery production, raw organic fertilizer is often made into biological organic fertilizer by modern biotechnology.

The best and most effective fertilizer for bighead carp is raw organic fertilizer such as manure and compost, but the effect of direct application is very slow. Therefore, in fishery production, raw organic fertilizer is often made into biological organic fertilizer using modern biotechnology. It not only has the effects of fertilizing water, improving water quality and controlling water, but is also particularly suitable for cultivating large algae, rotifers, cladocerans, copepods and other plankton that bighead carp likes to eat.
