CATDOLL: If there are light brown spots on the leaves of the goldfish plant, can I spray it with alcohol and water?

You can try it.

The diseases of Chlorophytum comosum are mainly leaf spot and anthracnose. Leaf spot mainly harms the leaves. Initially, it is small yellow-brown granular spots. There may be several or even a dozen small spots on a leaf. Then the small spots gradually expand and can form spots with a diameter of 1-2 cm. The inside is light brown and the surrounding is slightly angular. The concentric ring spots with different shades are leaf spot. Anthracnose causes small spots on the leaves, which gradually expand into yellow-brown circular spots. In severe cases, most of the leaves can become black and dry, and the stems will gradually develop lesions, wither and die. Prevention is the main approach for this disease. Once discovered, use 500 times diluted 50% carbendazim or 700 times diluted 75% thiophanate-methyl in time to spray the leaves once every 7-8 days. 2-3 times in a row, the disease can be basically cured.

Chlorophytum comosum likes high temperature, high humidity, and negative environment. If it is placed in the sun for a long time, it will cause leaves to fall if it is too dry or the temperature is too low in winter. Chlorophytum comosum is most likely to shed leaves in winter, which is related to temperature. The suitable temperature for the growth of Chlorophytum comosum is 18-22℃, and it should avoid low temperature. If the temperature is lower than 10℃ for two consecutive days, the leaves will begin to turn yellow and dry, and even fall off with very slight vibration. In addition to low temperature, the leaves will also fall off if the temperature exceeds 30℃ continuously.

You can't add alcohol. The light brown color may be due to lack of water. Alcohol will not kill the bacteria there. You can spray some fungicide used on crops, but it has to be mixed with water.
