CATDOLL: How to raise earthworms for fishing (How to raise earthworms for fishing)

1. How to breed earthworms for fishing?

It is very convenient to raise earthworms for fishing at home, as follows:

1. Container: When raising earthworms at home, you need to prepare old washbasins or old plastic boxes as breeding containers.

2. Soil: Mix the silt excavated from the river and the humus soil in the flower bed to make the cultivation medium.

3. Planting seedlings: Place the earthworm seedlings in a box and cover them with straw mats to block out light.

4. Maintenance: Spray water on the soil every 3-5 days to prevent the earthworms' body surface from drying out.

2. How to raise earthworms for fishing?

Containers for raising earthworms can be wooden boxes, clay pots, wooden barrels, porcelain pots, etc., which need to be easy to penetrate water and breathable.

Put fertile and moist soil in the container, add earthworms and food they like, and put a cardboard at the bottom of the container to prevent the earthworms from escaping.

Earthworms are omnivorous animals, eating humus, animal feces, soil bacteria, fungi, and the decomposition products of these substances. They also eat fruit peels, vegetable leaves, porridge, and rice washing water. Earthworms have a sensitive sense of taste and like sweet and sour foods.

The most suitable living temperature for earthworms is about 20 degrees Celsius. They will hibernate if the temperature is below 5 degrees and die if the temperature is below 0 degrees. They can reproduce normally at 15 degrees. If the temperature exceeds 33 degrees, they will crawl away or die. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a suitable temperature environment for raising earthworms. In addition to paying attention to rain and sun protection, maintaining appropriate temperature and humidity, and feeding in time, you must pay attention to cleaning up the earthworms' excrement in a timely manner. Replace part of the base material about half a year and add another part of new base material.

Additional information

Earthworms are negatively phototactic, especially avoiding strong sunlight, blue light and ultraviolet rays, but are not afraid of red light and tend to move towards weak light. This is why earthworms come out of their burrows on damp mornings. The toxic effect of sunlight on earthworms is mainly due to the ultraviolet rays contained in sunlight. According to sunlight exposure tests, 66% of earthworms died after being exposed to sunlight for 15 minutes, and 100% died after 20 minutes.

Earthworms prefer a quiet environment, which requires not only low noise but also no vibration. Earthworm farms should not be built near bridges, roads, or airports. Earthworms will become restless and escape after being vibrated.

3. How to raise earthworms for fishing?

Prepare the site: prepare a plastic or iron breeding box that is 30 to 50 centimeters high, and then add farmyard manure such as cow dung and sheep dung into it.

Feeding: Feed the worms with balanced nutrition regularly. You can use a mixture of various crumbs. Add enough soil and dry straw, and wait for the mixture to ferment before feeding. In addition, you can also feed high-nutrient bait to speed up the fattening of earthworms.

Suitable environment: Maintain the ambient temperature at 20 to 30 degrees, and the air humidity at 70 to 80 percent. Ventilate the room three to four times a day, and make sure that each ventilation time is no less than 30 minutes. In addition, provide the earthworms with two to three hours of light every day.

4. What is the correct way to raise earthworms while fishing?

First, the fish must be ventilated and placed in a cool place. The soil should not be too dry or too wet. They should be observed every one or two days. If earthworms crawl out, it means the climate is too hot or the soil is too wet. Second, they should be fed regularly. You can feed them vegetable leaves, rotten fruits, and millet porridge, but don't feed too much at a time.
