CATDOLL: Locust breeding technology Locust breeding introduction

1. Selection of locust breeding species. Locusts are oviparous insects that can be used as both medicine and food. Among the 859 species of locusts, there are two main types that can be used as medicine and food, namely the East Asian migratory locust and the Chinese rice locust. Generally, the East Asian migratory locust is the main one. Taking the East Asian migratory locust as an example, the East Asian migratory locust has two generations a year under natural temperature conditions, and is divided into summer locusts and autumn locusts. This locust is large in size, has a wide range of food, and is highly adaptable. It only takes about a month from a young locust to an adult, and it can be sold after being fattened up.

2. Management of breeding shed. First of all, we should know that the natural enemies of locusts are mainly ants and mole crickets. Therefore, before building the shed, we must ensure that there are no natural enemies. The shed should be built in a ventilated and lighted place. The foundation is about 10-15 cm higher. Jianjichang uses sandy loam that is not easy to clump. The construction area is determined according to the number of locusts raised.

3. Care of locust eggs. When starting to cultivate from eggs, you must first understand that locust eggs can hatch when the temperature reaches 25-30 degrees Celsius. Mix the non-toxic soil and sawdust in a ratio of 2:1, keep the soil moisture at 10-15%, and lay the soil and eggs in the order of soil, eggs, and soil in a container, and finally lay the film. Pay attention to check, and use a soft brush to gently brush the locusts onto the prepared food. The hatching of locust eggs takes about half a month. The food prepared for young locusts is mainly fresh wheat seedlings, corn seedlings, weeds, etc.
