Goldfish Chlorophytum can be propagated by sowing, division and cutting. Because seeds are not easy to obtain, sowing is not often used for propagation. Cutting is generally used for propagation. In spring and autumn, cut branches about 10 cm long (3-4 nodes) and insert them into a plug bed made of river sand or vermiculite, maintaining a high humidity. It will take about a month to take root at a temperature of 20-25℃; after taking root and surviving, strengthen management to promote the growth of new branches, and pinch the top to promote branching. After 1-2 months, it can be planted in a pot.

3. How to propagate snapdragon, sowing and cutting methods

1. Seed propagation method

Snapdragon can be sown in spring or autumn. Generally, autumn sowing is more common in the Yangtze River Basin and in northern China. Autumn-sown seedlings grow stronger and bloom more luxuriantly than spring-sown seedlings.

Seedlings will emerge 7 to 10 days after autumn sowing. Flower lovers can soak the seeds in 50 to 400 mg/L gibberellin solution to increase the germination rate.

2. Cutting propagation method

Snapdragon cuttings can be propagated by leaving four to six true leaves when pinching the top, picking off the tender head with four true leaves on the top, and using it as cuttings. For Snapdragon cuttings, it is recommended that flower lovers use a thin bamboo stick with a diameter of about three millimeters, punch holes in the medium in advance,

Insert the branches into the medium while punching holes, and use your fingers to gently compact the culture soil at the base of the cuttings. The density of the cuttings is about 2.5 by 3 centimeters, with the leaves of the cuttings touching each other without overlapping. Then use a watering can to spray enough water, and move the pot after cuttings to a cool and ventilated place for maintenance.
