How to catch fish and shrimp

Different fishing methods are used in different waters. The fishing method for fish and shrimp should be determined according to the characteristics of the fishing waters. Generally, shrimps are caught using ground trap nets, shrimp cages, or scoop nets.

What should we pay attention to when catching prawns in ground cages?

Notes on catching shrimps with ground cages:

1. Fattening: About 10 days before shrimp fishing, high-quality bait should be appropriately added, and the amount of water change should be increased to maintain a good water quality environment to promote shrimp molting and growth;

2. Stop changing water: Stop changing water 2 days before shrimp fishing to prevent shrimp from molting and causing too many soft-shell shrimps, which will affect the survival rate during transportation;

3. Stop feeding: When shrimps are sold as chilled shrimp or raw materials for processing, stop feeding one day before fishing to minimize the amount of bait and excrement in the shrimps' stomachs to prevent affecting the quality of the product. If shrimps are sold as live shrimps, stop feeding one meal before fishing to maintain the vitality of the shrimps and increase the survival rate of live shrimps during transportation;

4. Lower the water level in the shrimp pond: In order to shorten the fishing time, the water level should be lowered before fishing. If the number of shrimps to be put on the market at one time is relatively large, the water level can be lowered to about 60 cm (centimeter);

5. When fishing with a ground trap, try to swing the ground trap straight without bending it. The mouth of the ground trap should be tied tightly but easy to open quickly.
